Rules for reasearching the Wife of Bath online are the same as for Chaucer in general. The Chaucer sites on the blogroll are a good place to start, as most of them have specific sections on the Wife of Bath’s Prologue and Tale.
Chaucer’s poem Gentilesse might also be useful.
As you might imagine, there is a lot of information on Chaucer online, but a lot of it is not particularly reliable. In the blogroll, there are a select few sites that all link to additional academic information. I would suggest that you confine your online research to these sources.
If you are looking for articles on Chaucer, try going to Project Muse or JStor through the MRC library. There are two journals specifically dedicated to Chaucer studies – Chaucer Review, and Studies in the Age of Chaucer. MRC library also has a number of books on Chaucer – these are almost all things that I suggested that the library purchase, so you can rely on them to contain good information.
Chaucer’s blog is good fun, and in addition to the amusing stuff, he actually has some good information in his links. Many of the people on his blogroll are Chaucer scholars.
